Leeds 20-12 Huddersfield

Leeds overturned a 12 point deficit to defeat Huddersfield and move up to second in Super League.

In a closely fought game at Headingley, it took 36 minutes to trouble the scorers, David Hodgson crossing for the visitors. Namesake Brett Hodgson converted to give the Giants a 6-0 half time lead.

Just three minutes after the interval, Kevin Brown shrugged off a tackle to find his way to the line, and Nathan Brown’s men looked good for their lead.

But winger Kallum Watkins went over in the corner to give Leeds a foot hold in the match, and with just ten minutes to play, Kylie Leuluai went on a barnstorming run and somehow burst through a group of defenders to plant the ball down.

Kevin Sinfield converted both those tries and crucially landed a penalty goal on 74 minutes to edge the Rhinos in front for the first time.

And as Huddersfield chased the game, a loose pass by Hodgson was snaffled by Watkins and he raced 90 metres to seal the win.
