Castleford Tigers player Lee Jewitt has thanked the club’s fans for the support they showed him and his family last Friday evening during the game with St Helens.

Jewitt’s wife Rebecca recently gave birth to premature twins, and Jewitt remains away from the club to care for his family.

“My wife Rebecca and I cannot thank the Castleford Tigers family enough for all the support we are receiving,” he said.

“We are just a normal family who’ve been chosen to face this fight in our lives, but having you all right behind us is providing a great support to us.

“Isobella and Oscar really enjoyed the game on Thursday night and we are so grateful for the 14th minute applause.

“This is something I will never forget. Castleford Tigers is not just where I work, it is part of my family. I’d like to personally thank Daryl Powell and the board for all their support and of course my team mates.

“The boys have been in touch with me all personally every day offering their support. Once again thank you all and please keep praying for Noah and Oliver.”
