Barrow have signed prop Lee Jewitt from Hull KR for the 2020 season.

The 32-year-old left the Robins at the end of the season after making 24 appearances for the club in three years.

Jewitt has previously played for Wigan, Salford, Limoux, Castleford, Townsville Blackhawks and Hull KR.

A Barrow spokesperson said: “Lee suffered a concussion last season at Hull KR and has spent some time out of the game but he’s raring to reignite his career and it is a real coup that he has chosen the Raiders.

“The pack is now becoming ever more formidable has we continue to make signings and that is adding to a back-line with pace to burn.”

The Raiders have also confirmed the re-signing of half-back Ryan Johnston on a one-year deal.

Johnston scored two tries and kicked five goals in 12 games for Barrow in 2019.

A Barrow spokesperson added: “Ryan found it difficult to firmly establish himself in the team last season but the club feel that there is an opportunity for him to cement his place in the team for years to come.

“Barrow Raiders fought off competition for his signature and are really pleased that we managed to convince Ryan that the Raiders were the club for him.”
