League 1 round-up: Whitehaven clinch promotion, Langtree hat-trick, Doncaster ease past Workington

Whitehaven lifted the League 1 title after thrashing Coventry.

Whitehaven secured promotion to the Championship following a 72-0 hammering of Coventry Bears at Webb Ellis Road.

Jake Burns (4), Jake Moore, Marc Shackley, Chris Taylor, Carl Forster, Dave Thompson (2), Brett Phillips, Callum Phillips and Andrew Bulman scored for Haven.

Newcastle Thunder edged past Keighley Cougars 32-22 at Cougar Park.

Alex Clegg (2), Nick Newman (2) and Kieran Gill (2) crossed the whitewash for Thunder.

Oldham secured second spot and will have a week off in the qualifying semi-finals following a 34-20 victory over Hunslet at South Leeds Stadium.

Danny Bridge, Danny Langtree (3) and Paul Crook went over for the Roughyeds.

Doncaster eased past fellow promotion chasers Workington Town 30-4 at Derwent Park.

Tom Halliday (2), Jason Tali, Matty Beharrell and Frankie Mariano crossed the whitewash for the Dons.

North Wales Crusaders came from being 12-0 down to win 36-18 against London Skolars at Queensway Stadium.

Rob Massam (2), Stephen Wild (2), Simon Atherton, Jonny Walker and Alex Eckley scored for the Welsh outfit.

Whitehaven have clinched automatic promotion to the Championship, while Oldham, Newcastle, Doncaster, Hunslet and Workington will battle it out in the play-offs for the second promotion spot.
