Ottawa Aces have appointed Laurent Frayssinous as the club’s first head coach.

The Canadian side will enter League 1 ahead of the 2021 season, having taken on the licence of Hemel Stags.

Frayssinous, who was coach of Catalans between 2013-17, will lead the Aces in their inaugural season.

Aces president Eric Perez said: “Laurent brings a wealth of experience to the role.

“His experience coaching Catalans in Super League, his philosophy on building a team and culture are exactly what Ottawa needs to be successful.”

Frayssinous added: “I will give it my all in Ottawa, and I’m confident we can bring success to the club and the city.

“We have a lot of big and exciting plans, and I look forward to getting on the job.”
