Latrell Mitchell staying put at Sydney Roosters, insists Trent Robinson

Sydney Roosters coach Trent Robinson has silenced reports linking Latrell Mitchell with a move to rivals South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Reports Down Under suggest the Australia and New South Wales centre is on South Sydney’s radar as they eye a replacement for the recently retired Greg Inglis.

But Robinson insists Mitchell is going nowhere until at least the end of 2020, when his contract expires with the Roosters.

Robinson said: “Latrell has always talked about how he has developed through the ranks here, we gave him a chance when other clubs wouldn’t.

“He’s on for this year and next, and that’s our focus.

“I think there is enough noice when it comes to recruitment around our club but we have been pretty rock solid for a while now about players continuing on and developing at our club.”
