Lakers in kit-ticket offer

Doncaster Lakers, who attracted the biggest crowd to watch a Rugby League match for over a decade in the town when they played the opening game on the 27th December at the new Keepmoat stadium, are looking to increase that 5,000 plus crowd with a novel ticket – kit offer.

Called the “ti-KIT” deal, students and under 16’s can purchase a home or away replica shirt and a season ticket for a mere £38.

“With the Doncaster College as our shirt sponsor and the Lakers Community Schools Programme having extended to all the Primary and Secondary schools in the Doncaster area we felt that we needed to make the Lakers affordable to everyone who isn’t earning a wage. Rugby League has become the family sport and we wanted to encourage as many family members as possible to feel part of the club and the “ti-KIT” deal fits the bill ideally”, said the Lakers Chief Executive, Dave King.

The Lakers have been delayed in selling season tickets for the new season, which starts with a real tester for the club on the 11th February at the Keepmoat against Castleford Tigers, because of technical problems with the ticketing system, but a whole range of Season Tickets will be available from the 16th January. In addition to the “ti-KIT” deal, adult season tickets at £99, OAP at £40, and Under 16’s and students at £15 represent some of the lowest prices in National League One.

A new £200 Family Season Ticket is also available which admits two adults and up to three under 16’s. “We realise that some of those fans who turned up for the Christmas opener were watching Rugby League for the first time and felt that we had to make the Lakers an affordable family experience if we were to expect them to keep supporting the club,” added King.
