North Queensland Cowboys star Lachlan Coote could well be playing in Super League next season.

According to The Mole in his column for WWOS, Coote is certain to leave the Cowboys at the end of the NRL season and his agent is currently in contact with English clubs.

The Scotland international has played in two of the past three NRL Grand Finals, but The Mole suggests that his NRL career is ‘all but over’.

It is believed that Coote would prefer a move back to Sydney, but not many clubs in the region are looking for a full-back.

The 28-year-old started his professional career at Penrith Panthers in 2008 and scored 43 tries in 83 appearances for the club, before joining North Queensland in 2014.

Coote has played 83 games for the Cowboys since 2014, scoring 15 tries. He played for Scotland in the 2016 Four Nations and has previously represented City Origin and Prime Minister’s XIII.
