Kurt Gidley is poised to confirm that he will be signing for Warrington, according to several reports in Australia.

Currently with the Newcastle Knights, the 32-year-old is reportedly set to sign a two-year deal with the Wolves.

Gidley’s brother, Matt, spent some time with St Helens at the end of his career.

Kurt Gidley has expressed a desire to play in England in the past, saying in 2008: “I’d be kidding myself if I said I’d rule that out, especially talking to my brother, who’s over there at the moment.

“He’s loving it over there. He had a great year last year with St Helens, and I think it would be a great way to finish a career over there, playing in England and doing a bit of travelling, too.”
