Widnes star Krisnan Inu is delighted to be back in full training ahead of a potential return from injury this weekend.

The 31-year-old centre has been out of action for the Vikings since breaking his leg in their Good Friday defeat at Warrington Wolves.

Inu is back in full training though and says he is happy to be back with the rest of Francis Cummins’ squad ahead of their trip to Wakefield Trinity on Sunday.

He said: “It feels awesome (to be back) and it’s great to get a bit of contact in me.

“I’ve been running with Gil (Dudson) for just over a week now, so it’s good to be back. Like any team-mate who is on the sidelines, you always want to help the team out.

“The sessions are pretty vocal and it’s good for me to be back out there. I tried to do my part by opening my big mouth and lift the boys’ spirit. Everyone has had Gilly (Tom Gilmore) shouting too, who is probably the loudest in the team, so there is no shortage of voice in this team.

“As a member of the squad, you want to do your part. You feel helpless at times and it’s a pretty bad feeling being out injured, so I can’t wait to be back on the field.”

Inu started his career at the Vikings in fine form, scoring six tries in seven appearances.
