Salford owner Dr Marwan Koukash has revealed that he is seriously thinking about appointing Tim Sheens as director of rugby at the club.

He has also stated that he has two props lined up as new recruits, and has spoken out against the club’s critics and detractors.

Bobbie Goulding could also be lined up for a role with the Red Devils.

“I am also giving serious consideration to appointing Tim Sheens as the club’s director of rugby,” Koukash wrote in his Manchester Evening News column.

“I plan to bring Tim back. If this does not come off, we have someone else of equally high profile in mind.

“I am also very interested in finding a role within the club for Bobbie Goulding. This will happen soon.”

Koukash has scheduled a press conference for next Tuesday, when he claims that many of the rumours and reports in the media surrounding the club will be addressed.

“Next Tuesday will be very interesting,” he added.

“I love rugby league and continue to be involved doing my best for the Salford club and the city.

“This will be shown by my recruitment of two world class props to strengthen the squad.

“I will not give any names away yet but fans know who I am targeting and I will get these players.”

The Red Devils owner also revealed the names of two Leigh players he is targeting for the future, and reiterated his determination to keep Theo Fages at the cclub.

“I am also already looking at who to possibly bring in for 2017,” he said.

“The Leigh duo of Ryan Brierley and Tom Armstrong have already been considered for this.

“I am also very determined to make sure Theo Fages stays where he is at Salford.

“We do not want to lose him and he is a player we are building for the future around.

“I know we already have Rangi Chase and Michael Dobson but there is no reason why these three cannot play for the same team.”
