Knights issue pitch rallying call

Due to the severe weather experienced this week, York City Knights face a race against time to get the pitch ready for Sunday’s big game with SuperLeague side Hull FC.

The club are appealing for any supporters who may be able to spare an hour or two on Friday from 11am to come down and help lend a hand in clearing the pitch of snow. After Thursday night the forecast is looking much more promising and the ground is still soft under the snow, so the Knights are confident of getting the game on.

A club spokesman said: “Even if it is just for an hour or all day, any help will be greatly appreciated. Hot tea and coffee will be provided, and if volunteers could bring their own gloves and snow shovels it will be hugely beneficial for us!”

If you think you can help, please call Ian Wilson at the Knights office (01904 767404) to confirm your attendance.
