Kingstone Press League 1 Preview: York City Knights v London Skolars

Looking back on the win over Rochdale Hornets York City Knights coach James Ford was pretty happy.

He said: “I was pleased for the players and supporters, they’re continually doing it tough. To knock off a team at the top of league was just rewards for all concerned.

“This week, against London Skolars, It will certainly be a more keenly-fought contest than last time we played them. London have an excellent coach in Jermaine Coleman, The patterns of play have vastly improved and you can see that his coaching has had an effect. I hope he continues to improve London and strengthen the game down there.

“We need to build some consistency and build on last week’s result against Rochdale and ensure that we perform to our standards. If we don’t and turn up and are a little bit off then, as we’ve seen before in this competition, these teams can knock you off so we need to be right on the money on Sunday.”
