Looking back on their comprehensive win at Coventry Bears, Swinton Lions coach John Duffy was pleased with his team’s professionalism.

“It was a really professional performance from us last week. I was impressed with our attitude towards the game,” he said.

“Oldham are going to be a tough ask this week. They’re a physical team who are going well at the minute. We’ll be training hard this week to try and combat them.”

Oldham coach Scott Naylor had a smile on his face following his side’s 64-0 demolition of Oxford.

“We played really well last week,” he said. “Oxford came at us and had a real dig. They were physical and we had to start the game well, which we did, and carried on in the same vein all the way through – it was nice to see us put in an 80-minute performance.

“I’ve watched Swinton play a couple of times and in my opinion they’re one of the best teams in our division. They play the game the right way, have got some really good players and are obviously well coached.

“It’s going to be a big ask but hopefully it will be decent conditions and we can have a good go at each other – we’ll see what happens.”
