Kevin Sinfield says former team-mate Rob Burrow is an inspiration to others as he battles motor neurone disease.

The Leeds club held a gala dinner on Friday night to help raise funds for Rob Burrow and to aid the research of MND, with more than £200,000 being raised on the night.

Sinfield said: “He is in really good spirits.

“He has a big smile on his face every time I see him and it picks you up because there are some people in this world who are going through a fair bit and just get on with life and make the most of it and he’s certainly doing that.

“He’s fighting, he’s showing everybody how to attack a challenge and to have so many people here again tonight to support him is brilliant.”
