Centre Daley Williams became the ninth player to agree a new deal with Keighley Cougars for 2010.

The former Salford City Reds back now in his second spell at Cougar Park has signed on the dotted line and joins skipper James Feather and seven other players who have agreed terms for next year.

Barry Eaton, the Cougar’s Head Coach, said: “We’re delighted to retain Daley who has amply justified our faith in re-signing him after the 2008 season.

“During the last two months Daley has played really well and established himself in our team.”

Added Eaton: “We’re continuing to talk to other players we want to retain for next year and it’s really encouraging that we’ve been able to retain the bulk of the team that has developed so well during the 2009 season.”

The Cougars have also agreed terms with second row forward Will Cartledge for 2010 and he is expected to sign a new contract this week.

Eaton said: “Will has been a consistent performer for the Cougars and offers us so many options in our forward pack.”
