Kavanagh joins Wakefield on loan

Widnes Vikings prop Ben Kavanagh has joined Wakefield on loan for the rest of the 2015 season.

Vikings coach Denis Betts hoped that the move would give the prop more valuable first-team experience.

“Ben is just on the edge of our first team squad so the opportunity to play with the Wakefield team for the remainder of this season will give him the chance to get some regular first team action,” he said.

“Ben is still contracted to us next year. The loan spell with Wakefield will give him a chance to play week in week out which can only improve his game and help him to develop as a player.”
