Kangaroos wary of Kiwi fire

Australian forwards Boyd Cordner and Tyson Frizell are expecting a fired-up New Zealand side with a point to prove when the two teams clash on Saturday night.

The Kangaroos have romped to two staight forward wins over the Kiwis this year, in Newcastle and in Perth.

But Frizell believes New Zealand will be back to its best in Coventry this weekend. The Kiwis last defeated Australia in the ANZAC Test in 2015, and are coming off a tough contest with England in Huddersfield.

“It was a very close game between those two (New Zealand and England) so hopefully they’ve taken it out of each other a bit,” Frizell told NRL.com.

“Leading into this game, we’re coming away with the convincing win against Scotland, but they’re going to be wanting to get one back on us from a few weeks ago.

“It’s going to be a good match up and hopefully our boys can come away with the win.”

“Obviously the boys got off to a really good start against Scotland on Friday night,” he said.

“Although we did win by 50 there’s still a lot of improvement in us and we’re going to have to be better and work on those things for when we take on the Kiwis on Saturday.”
