Kallum Watkins has ban wiped after successful appeal

Salford centre Kallum Watkins will not face a spell on the sidelines after having his one-match penalty notice downgraded following a successful appeal.
The 31-year-old was issued with a one-match penalty notice after their 14-10 defeat at St Helens in Round 11 of Super League last Friday.
Watkins was initially issued with a Grade B dangerous contact charge. However, it has been downgraded to a Grade A following a successful appeal at the Operational Rules Tribunal on Wednesday evening.
The downgrading means Watkins’ charge now carries a zero-match penalty notice. He was also fined £500.
Five players banned following Round 10 of Super League
A total of five Super League players were banned following the latest round of action.
Leeds pair Matt Prior and Morgan Gannon have both received two-match bans following their win over Hull KR.
Prior, 34, received a charge for Grade B Tripping. Team-mate Gannon, 18, was charged with Grade C Other Contrary Behaviour.
The duo, who started against Hull KR last Friday, will miss the club’s fixtures against Salford and Wakefield.
Hull KR forward Albert Vete will miss two matches following a Grade B High Tackle charge. He will miss their Challenge Cup semi-final tie with Huddersfield at Elland Road this weekend. He will also miss their away trip to Castleford the following week.
Wakefield half-back Jacob Miller will miss one game. He was charged with a Grade B tripping following their defeat to Huddersfield on Thursday.
Huddersfield prop forward Matty English will miss their Challenge Cup semi-final tie with Hull KR after receiving a one-match ban. He was charged Grade A Dangerous Contact.
Disciplinary latest elsewhere
Elsewhere, Batley’s Lucas Walshaw pleaded guilty to a dangerous contact charge but challenged the grading of a B. The grading was found to be correct, but the challenge was not found frivolous.
Wakefield youngster Tommy Lee-Corke will serve a four-match ban after pleading guilty to a Grade B dangerous contact charge. He was also fined £50.
Newcastle Thunder youngster Ashton Sice will also serve a four-match suspension after pleading guilty to a Grade D dangerous throw charge. He was also fined £50.
