Kain and Clayton stick with Hunslet

Hunslet pair Stuart Kain and David Clayton have signed new one-year deals with the Championship club.

Full-back Kain joined the Hawks from Featherstone having broke through at Gateshead, while centre Clayton was a fellow new addition in 2011.

Director of Rugby Darren Williams said “Stuart and David are both highly thought of at South Leeds and Barry Eaton and I were keen to retain their services for 2012. “

Meanwhile Williams revealed that the Hawks current longest serving player Joe Helme with be leaving the club having turned down the club’s contract offer and that both Richard Blakeway and Richie Barnett are unlikely to remain at the club next year.

Williams added: “I would like to thank the players leaving the club for their efforts in the famous Myrtle, Flame and White shirt particularly Joe whose been here 4 years and wish them well for the future.”

The club will announce the signing of a former Super League player at noon on Friday.
