St Helens boss Justin Holbrook has been approached by Gold Coast Titans over the club’s vacant coaching role, according to reports Down Under.

The Australian’s current deal with Saints expires at the end of the season and he is yet to pen new terms.

Holbrook – who guided St Helens to the League Leaders’ Shield last year – has held talks with the Titans, according to Australian outlet Fox Sports.

The Courier-Mail’s Peter Badel told NRL 360 on Fox League: “Justin Holbrook has had information that he is a preferred candidate, or one of the preferred candidates for the Titans post.

“They want him to apply for the job, he will apply for the job.

“He’s based in St Helens at the moment, he’s won 61 of 76 games over there – that is impressive.

“He’s got some runs on the board. Don’t be surprised if he is a real shot at this Titans job.”
