Justin Carney out for six to eight weeks

Castleford coach Daryl Powell has confirmed that injured winger Justin Carney will not be sidelined for as long as initially feared.

Having seen a specialist about his dislocated elbow, the Australian winger could now be out for less than two months.

“Justin needs an operation, and will be out for six to eight weeks,” said Powell.

“It’s tough to take, but it’s probably the best case scenario we could have expected, and hppe to get a key strike weapon back asap.”
