Hometown boy Phil Joy is the second Oldham forward to commit to the club for 2018.
Joy, 26, has made 116 appearances for the Roughyeds, but was limited to just four this term due to a serious shoulder injury.
Club chairman Chris Hamilton said: “Phil was a very big miss in the season that’s just ended. He’s Oldham through and through and he was very keen to put his hand up to be with us again next year.
“Come the start of pre-season training he’ll be raring to go with the rest of them.”
