Jones To Miss First Month of Season

The Catalan side kick off their 2007 campaign against Hull FC on the 11th of February, but will now have to contend with the absence of their influential captain.

"The injury is a blow to the beginning of our 2007 campaign," said Catalans chief executive Nicolas Rayer.

"But, unlike last year and with a little more depth in our pivotal areas, we will be able to alleviate of the loss of Stacey for the first weeks."

Jones missed out on three months of the season last year after breaking his arm in the Catalans’ Round Two game at Salford City Reds; and in his absence the Dragons won just three games.

Meanwhile, the Catalans ran out 38-22 win over the French President’s XIII in a pre-season friendly at St Esteve on Saturday.
