Johnson out to impress

Wakefield prop Paul Johnson was the Wildcats Player of the Year last season and he’s looking to impress once again in 2012.

Johnson, 23, dusted off the cobwebs with a strong performance in the Boxing Day friendly against Leeds and he is contention to feature in Friday’s friendly against Championship side Sheffield.

He told the club’s official website: “It’s like another fresh start again this year.

“There are new coaches and new players to impress so I just want to try and play well every week and hopefully have a decent year.”

The Wildcats kick off the new Super League season with an away game at Widnes, having experienced major upheaval in the close season, with new coach Richard Agar overseeing the movement of no fewer than 18 players in and out of the Wakefield squad.
