Johns makes 250th Knights appearance

Newcastle Knights Captain, Andrew Johns will achieve yet another Rugby League milestone this weekend when he makes his 250th First Grade appearance in the blue and red.

The most capped player in the club’s 20 year history, Johns will lead the Knights into battle against The Melbourne Storm at EnergyAustralia Stadium for the Easter Saturday showdown.

Knights enforcer, Adam Woolnough also reaches a personal milestone, playing his 100th game for Newcastle in his 7th year of First Grade football.

A Taree junior, Woolnough debuted for the Knights in May 2002 as a teenager against the New Zealand Warriors at EnergyAustralia Stadium. He found career best form in 2006, earning selection in the Prime Ministers XIII and is a member of the Knights Leadership Group.

Meanwhile, Danny Buderus will be making his long awaited comeback, attracting a healthy pre-sale crowd.

The Knights head into Saturday’s hit out with the New South Wales Captain on board for the first time this year – out to reclaim his Test jersey against incumbent Australian Hooker, Cameron Smith.

Four days from kick off, 14,500 tickets have been sold but supporters holding off until Good Friday to secure seats are advised The Knights Kingdom Supporter Store will be closed for the public holiday.
