Featherstone have handed John Davies a two-year deal, while also bringing in Castleford full-back Calum Turner on a one-month loan deal.

Forward Davies joined Rovers in 2016 after previously playing for Castleford, York, Dewsbury, Batley and Sheffield.

Full-back Turner rejoins Rovers after making six appearances for Ryan Carr’s side earlier in the campaign, scoring two tries.

On Davies’ new deal, Rovers chief executive Davide Longo said: “We are delighted that John has signed for further two seasons, he’s a quality player with a vast amount of experience.

“It was imperative that we secured his services as he is one of the best back-rowers in this division and a key member of the squad.”

On re-signing Turner, Featherstone general manager Steve Gill commented: “Calum was great for us in his first spell, and as part of the agreement with the Tigers, he would always return to us when he wasn’t required by them.

“He is a welcome addition to what is a very strong squad at the moment and will add some real competition for places, as we start approaching the business end of the season.”
