Canberra Raiders back-rower John Bateman is progressing well from shoulder surgery.

The Great Britain and England international underwent surgery on his shoulder earlier on in the season.

Bateman, 26, is working on a training programme at home whilst in isolation.

He said: “At the moment I’m trying to get some strength and movement back into my shoulder.

“I have to be careful and stick to my program however I’ve been using the time to get some kilometres back into the legs by doing a fair bit of running.”

The NRL has recently announced that it will resume its season on May 28 following the coronavirus pandemic.
