Joel Tomkins nominates his Lady of the League

Foxy Bingo caught up with Joel Tomkins yesterday at the Wigan training camp, following his recent return to rugby league and Wigan Warriors

With Ladies of the League nominations well under way, Foxy were keen to hear from Joel on his experience of ladies going the extra mile in rugby league.

With Joel and his two brothers, Sam and Logan all enjoying successful rugby playing careers it was unsurprising that their mum, Alison was Joel’s chosen lady of the league. Over the years she has driven Joel and his brothers around the country time and again, juggling matches and training sessions for the three boys, as well as washing their muddy kit week in, week out!

Like many others around the country, rugby league is a family affair in the Tomkins household. Therefore, whether it be grassroots coaches, match organisers, fans or players Foxy is looking hear about all those committed ladies and recognise their passion for the game! We’ll be shortlisting the nominees in August when five worthy ladies will be selected by our panel of league judges to attend the Man of Steel Awards. Voting will begin for the winner, who will receive £1000 in holiday vouchers as well as a £1000 donation to a club or community project of her choice.
