Huddersfield forward Joe Greenwood has been handed a three-match ban following his red card in the defeat to Catalans at the weekend.

Greenwood, 28, was sent off by referee Ben Thaler after a high tackle on Dragons centre Samisoni Langi in the second half at the Totally Wicked Stadium.

The only other player handed a ban was Salford half-back Kevin Brown, who was given a one match penalty notice for a trip in their defeat to Hull.

He will miss Saturday’s Challenge Cup tie against former club Widnes.

Meanwhile, Huddersfield’s Matt English and Castleford’s Adam Milner were charged with Grade A dangerous tackle offences, though escaped a ban, while Salford’s Ryan Lannon received a caution.

There was no charge brought in relation to the incident in the game between Wigan and Wakefield that saw England winger Tom Johnstone leave the field not to return with a head knock.

Trinity coach Chris Chester had suggested that Wigan’s Willie Isa should receive punishment for the tackle, though Warriors coach Adrian Lam disagreed.
