Toulouse have signed Wigan forward Joe Bretherton on a permanent basis.

Bretherton, 22, has been on loan with the French club since May and played 15 times for the Warriors first team.

He said: “I feel good in this team, this team, this country. The weather is better than in England! I’m happy to have the opportunity to progress to the TO and I hope to help the club achieve its goal of Super League. “

Bretherton has scored two tries in 16 appearances for Toulouse, who look set to remain in the Championship next season after their defeat to Salford in The Qualifiers on Thursday.

Sarrazain Bernard, Chairman of TO XIII “He is young and talented, I am confident that his contribution will be even greater when it has completed a full season with the team.”
