Jimmy Keinhorst has signed a new one-year extension with Hull KR for the 2023 Super League season.

Keinhorst, 31, joined the Robins from Leeds ahead of the 2019 season. He was a part of the Rhinos’ 2015 Grand Final winning team, named on the bench.

Originally a centre, the German international has found game time also on the wing and in the back-rower at Craven Park.

He said: “I enjoy being part of this group at the moment. I’m excited with where it can go. It was quite an easy decision.

“Obviously in the last few weeks results haven’t gone our way which makes it a bit tougher. But I still enjoy working with the group and embracing the role I’ve got in the squad.

“It’s no secret I’m a utility player that’s able to fill in spots and I’m embracing that as it comes, week by week.

“Everyone is on the same page and working together in the right direction so that’s what’s good about being a part of this squad.”

On his utility, he added: “I enjoy it there (back-row) or centre with that being my most comfortable position.

“I played a bit of back-row early on in my career at Leeds and more recently with KR when I’ve been filling in with injuries and whatnot.

“I enjoy anywhere I’m put on the pitch to be honest. As long as I’m doing a good enough job for the guys around me then I’m happy.”

Off-contract at Hull KR

There are still several big names off-contract at the end of the 2022 campaign. Captain Shaun Kenny-Dowall is yet to confirm his future beyond this season. Albert Vete, Ben Crooks and Dean Hadley are still without a deal for 2023.

The club did recently announce the re-signing of Sam Wood on a new one-year deal.
