Jensen swaps Cowboys for Giants

North Queensland Cowboys have announced that Rod Jensen had been granted a release and will move to the Huddersfield Giants in  Superleague.

Rod approached the club a short time ago with regard to future options of playing in the English Superleague given qualification status required to attain places in that competition. After much deliberation the club has reluctantly agreed to support his request for a release.

Toyota Cowboys CEO Peter Parr says it was not an easy decision given Rods great service to the Cowboys’ both on and off the field. “Rod is a highly regarded member of the club and this community so the decision was a very difficult and contentious one. In the same breath the opportunity for Rod to pursue a future in England was right and we did not want to rob him of that request”

“Rod has been a great player at the club and we sincerely thank him for all of his efforts while he has been here and wish he and his partner Belinda all the best in the future.”
