Jeffries driven by cup glory

New Bradford half-back Ben Jeffries wants his Wembley dream to begin in style against Super League champions Wigan at the weekend.

The Bulls have been handed the toughest of draws as they look to reach the Challenge Cup final for the first time since 2003.

Jeffries, 30, re-joined the Bulls from Wakefield a fortnight ago, and says that winning the competition is a target for him.

He said on his blog on the official Bradford website: “The Challenge Cup is a massive competition for me.  I would love to get to the Final and it is something that is eating away at me.

“I definitely want to go as far as I can in the tournament and that’s in my mind and I am sure in the mind of every other player in the team.

“We are lacking a little bit of confidence at the moment but I know from experience one game can turn all that around and we are all working hard and hoping that is going to be this weekend.

“I am really looking forward to getting back on the field at Odsal as I know what a special atmosphere the supporters can generate. I hope there will be a good crowd to support us and we will be out there doing our best to progress.”

Bradford entertain Wigan in the televised Sunday game, to be shown live on BBC.
