Whitehaven have re-signed experienced centre Jason Mossop on a two-year deal.

Mossop, 33, joined Haven from rivals Workington ahead of the last campaign and made 28 appearances this season.

He said: I really enjoyed last season and I thank Foz (Carl Forster) and the club for giving me the opportunity.

“I’m excited to be a part of the transition period under the new coaching team. I know what they will expect and it is something I’m looking forward to being involved with.”

Whitehaven appointed Gary Charlton as their new head coach earlier this week, and have also announced that local businessman Jason Ball has joined the club’s board of directors.
