Leigh Head Coach Adrian Lam has announced forward James Bell will play for the club on Monday during their clash against Halifax.

The forward, who played for Leigh in 2021, left the club following their relegation from the Super League to join champions St Helens.

He played for the Saints in their pre-season win over Leigh, and also scored a try. Bell will play on dual-registration.

Lam also confirmed James McDonnell would be coming into the squad on dual-registration from Wigan.

On his squad, Lam said: “Joining our squad this week will James McDonnell from Wigan, and James Bell from St Helens.

“He’s a former player here last year and popular with the players and the fans. We will welcome them both into the squad.”

Lam also gives update on Krisnan Inu

Lam also confirmed back Krisnan Inu could also join up with the squad this week. He was unavailable for the match against Bradford, as he nursed a foot injury.

However, Lam believes if he can have a good week in training, then he could be in line to play on Monday.

Lam added: “Krisnan had just got into the country last week. We included him in the squad, but he missed out on that basic training with us.

“If he can get through this week well, he will be part of that squad.”

Leigh will be hoping to keep the momentum from their win against Bradford in the Challenge Cup on Monday when they welcome Halifax to Leigh Sports Village on Monday night.

The reward for the Centurions after Monday’s win was Super League opposition after they were drawn away to Tony Smith’s Hull KR. That win also confirmed their place in the 1895 Cup.
