North Queensland Cowboys have secured the services of hooker Jake Granville until the end of the 2021 season.

The 29-year-old has agreed to a three-year contract extension with the Cowboys.

Granville celebrated his 100th NRL appearance on Thursday against Manly Sea Eagles. He joined North Queensland ahead of the 2015 season from Brisbane Broncos.

And Cowboys coach Paul Green is delighted to retain Granville for the next three years.

He said: “Jake has been a tremendous asset for this club ever since he arrived at the beginning of 2015 and we are extremely excited he will be a Cowboy for at least another three years.

“He was instrumental in delivering North Queensland its maiden premiership in 2015 and also helped drive the club to a grand final berth last season.

“At this club we pride ourselves on not just retaining quality players, but quality people and Jake certainly fits that bill – he’s a fantastic player and a fantastic person.”
