Jake Connor and Jarrod Sammut to miss opening derby clashes

Hull FC star Jake Connor and Wigan half-back Jarrod Sammut will both miss this week’s Super League openers.

England international Connor has been handed a one-match penalty notice by the match review panel for Grade B foul and abusive language to a match official in a pre-season game against St Helens.

Connor is set to miss FC’s derby with rivals Hull KR on Friday night.

Elsewhere, Malta international Sammut has picked up a two-match penalty notice for Grade C contact with a match official.

Sammut will miss Wigan’s games against rivals St Helens and Leeds Rhinos.
