Jai Field joins Parramatta on development contract

Drew Darbyshire

Jai Field has secured a development contract with Parramatta after joining the club at the start of the season on a train and trial deal.

The 22-year-old utility made his first-grade debut for St George Illawarra in 2017 and has 12 NRL appearances to his name.

Field will add plenty of versatility to the Eels, being able to play full-back, half-back and wing.

The Eels have also agreed to a mutual release for the remainder of Ethan Parry’s contract with immediate effect.

Eels general manager of football, Mark O’Neill, said: “We are excited to add Jai to our playing roster as he has been very impressive during his time at the Eels.

“Jai has enormous talent, he brings depth to our backline and he already has first-grade experience.

“We would also like to wish Ethan all the best in his future endeavours and thank him for his time at our club.”
