York have started their recruitment for 2020 by handing prop Jack Teanby a one-year deal.

The 23-year-old joined the Knights from Dewsbury ahead of the 2019 season, scoring four tries in 19 appearances to date.

Teanby has played over 70 games in the Championship since his debut in 2016.

Knights Head Coach James Ford said: “It’s great to get Jack sorted. He is good in contact and plays with lots of intensity.

“He is already an established Championship forward, despite his age.

“I believe he still has plenty more development in him as long as he continues to work hard at his game.”

Teanby added: “I’m delighted to extend my time at York. I’ve really enjoyed my development at the club both individually and as part of this team.

“Hopefully we can push on and finish this season strongly and continue that winning mentality in the new stadium.”
