Israel Folau will face hostile Hull FC environment, says Barrie McDermott

Sky Sports pundit Barrie McDermott expects Israel Folau to experience a “hostile environment” when he plays at Hull this weekend.

The 30-year-old will play his first away game with Catalans when they travel to Hull FC on Sunday.

Folau made a try scoring debut for the Dragons in their win over Castleford two weeks ago but they’ve just had a week off because of the World Club Challenge.

McDermott said: “For Israel Folau, this will be his first away game.

“He’s off to Hull FC at the weekend where it is a hostile environment at the best of times so all he can do is focus what he is good at which is playing rugby league.

“He has been getting to know his team-mates and his team-mates have got to know him a little bit and with the position he plays, he has got to have the understanding of the people inside and outside of him so he’ll have benefited from having that extra time on the training field.”
