Isaac Luke looking forward to some fun against England

New Zealand hooker Isaac Luke is expecting an enjoyable clash with England, when the three-game Test series between the two countries gets underway in Hull this weekend.

The last time the two nations met on English soil was the thrilling World Cup semi-final in 2013, a game which went right down to the wire.

“Last time we came over here it was a hard match as well,” said Luke.

“It’s going to be a good game. We always look forward to coming over here and playing against the English.

“We get the chance to play against them three times.

“It’s going to be an awesome game, and we’ll have a bit of fun out there too.”

New Zealand have been badly hit with injuries ahead of the series, with half-back Shaun Johnson the most notable absentee amongst many.

Luke believes that the Kiwis have sufficient depth to cope with the absences.

“We’ve got a lot of depth in New Zealand. If someone drops out there’s always someone there to fill his place,” he added.

“The boys that step up, I’m sure they’ll do a job.”
