Isa at Wigan to win trophies

Wigan new boy Willie Isa is in no doubt about why he chose to move to the Warriors from Widnes in the close season.

The former Melbourne amnd Castleford man is keen to win trophies, which is why he opted for Shaun Wane’s team over other options he was considering.

“I want to win trophies plain and simple,” Isa told the Warriors’ official website.

“This team is young with a lot of Wigan kids, they know what it means to be a Wigan Warriors player.

“They’ve got that extra one or two per cent in them, they know the area, they grew up around here, I’ll do everything I can but I think that extra one or two per cent can make such a difference.

“That’s what drives me to be here, to be the best I can be, I think I can improve as a player.

“Players like Sean O’Loughlin and Micky McIlorum, they attracted me straight away to be here and the coach Shaun Wane too.

“Wigan do things their own way. I like that and I respect that. Anywhere in the world, big teams and organisations down their own thing and Wigan do that.

“Right from the offices through to the rugby side, the way everyone is – everyone is working towards one goal, it all comes together and it’s awesome.

“I like the way they do things around here and I enjoy the boys’ company too. At the end of the day we’re all here for one goal and that’s to win trophies and compete at the very highest level.”
