Widnes centre Krisnan Inu will go up against his former club Catalans on his Vikings debut on Sunday.

Inu, 30, made the move from Perpignan over the close season as probably the most eye-catching of Widnes’ new recruits.

He said: “It’s pretty funny when I found out I was coming to Widnes. I looked at the fixtures and round one was the Dragons, it was sort of meant to be.

“It was always going to happen whether it was the beginning or the end of the season, so I think for me to play them round one is probably better for myself and get the cobwebs out and show the fans what I’m here to do and do my best.

“The move happened really quick. I was preparing for pre-season with the Dragons and then I found out I was heading over here.

“The boys have made life easy for me, the staff have been great and not only the coaches but the office guys too. They never really get a mention but I’ll never forget some of the things they’ve done to make the move easy for me and my family.

“Like every other player, I want to win. We want to win as many games as we can.”

Inu scored 14 tries in 46 appearances during three seasons with the Dragons, and previously played in the NRL for Parramatta, New Zealand Warriors and Canterbury.
