Injury woes for Keighley

Keighley Cougars winger Semi Tadulala has been ruled out for tonight’s Northern Rail Cup quarter-final clash with Featherstone Rovers.

Tadulala has been a key player for the Cougars this season with five tries to his name and will be missing for another three weeks following a finger operation.

Further bad news has come, in the fact that forward Andy Shickell is also doubtful with a shin problem after colliding with the goalposts during last week’s 30-16 defeat to league leaders Halifax.

Cougars coach Jason Demetriou demands vast improvements in his side’s composure.

He said, “We didn’t play with any big-game mentality against Halifax. We tried to score off every set and we didn’t try to build any pressure.

“We can’t afford to do that against Featherstone. You’ve got to get 50 per cent of the ball at least; if you give them a lot of ball then you’re in trouble.”

Last year, Keighley failed to make it out of their pool and are hoping to add their name into the hat for the semi-final draw this Sunday.
