Leigh fullback Gregg McNally could be out of action for up to six months with a knee injury, Love Rugby League understands.

McNally picked up the injury in the friendly defeat to Warrington last weekend.

It is believed the fullback has suffered ligament damage and may potentially miss half the new Championship season.

McNally confirmed to Love Rugby League today that he may be on the sidelines for up to six months and will need an operation.

It is a big blow for the Centurions as McNally has been a key figure since joining the club in 2012 from Barrow.

The 25-year old Ireland international has crossed for 53 tries in 92 appearances for the club.

Leigh have been approached for comment.
