Scans today have confirmed that Sout Sydney Rabbitohs full-back Greg Inglis will miss the next four to eight weeks of NRL action.

Inglis, 26, damaged the posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during Wednesday’s third State of Origin 2013 match.

Rabbitohs head coach Michael Maguire said, “It’s unfortunate to be losing Greg for an extended period but we have a few options at full-back which we have tested this year.

“Myself and the team have the utmost confidence in those guys to get the job done until Greg is fit to return.

“I know that Greg is a complete professional and will manage his body properly alongside our medical team, and I know he will do everything he can to return to the field as soon as he can for us.”
