In numbers: Super League Round 25 & 26 attendances

A total of 56,328 spectators attended a fixture during Super League round 25. 

That’s an average of 9,388 across the six Super League fixtures – a slight increase of 87 compared to the previous round.

Wigan recorded the highest Super League attendance of the season so far during their Friday night derby against St Helens at the DW Stadium. 19,210 saw Matt Peet’s side secure a second placed finish and a home semi-final tie with a 30-10 victory.

The next best came during Rivals Round as St Helens recorded an attendance of 17,980 in the reverse fixture.

Leeds Rhinos saw a crowd of 11,225 for their televised home clash against Huddersfield on Wednesday.

Salford recorded the lowest attendance of the round with 3,968 at the AJ Bell Stadium on Thursday against Hull.

Elsewhere, 4,653 supporters attended Wakefield’s final home game of the season against Hull KR.

8,104 attended the Halliwell Jones Stadium as Warrington fell to a 19-18 home defeat to Castleford.

Finally, Toulouse recorded their best attendance in their final home game of the season as they hosted Catalans in the French derby. 9,168 attended Stade Ernest-Wallon. Their best prior to round 25 came during their first win of the season at home to St Helens with a crowd of 5,568 in round six.

Super League Round 26 attendances

A total of 46,430 spectators attended a fixture during Super League round 26 – an average attendance of 7,723.

Catalans Dragons recorded the highest attendance of the round during their final home fixture of the regular season. Stade Brutus saw a crowd of 9,802 for Monday’s clash against Leeds.

It was also final home games for Castleford and Hull KR. The Tigers saw a crowd of 7,322 at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle as they fell to a 50-10 defeat at the hands of Salford.

The Robins defeated Wigan 38-28 with a crowd of 7,315 at Craven Park.

St Helens’ penultimate home tie saw a crowd of 8,222 as Kristian Woolf named a youthful side against Wakefield.

On Sunday, Hull recorded an attendance of 8,785 at the MKM Stadium as they defeated Toulouse 38-12.

Finally, 4,894 attended the John Smith’s Stadium as Huddersfield overcame Warrington 38-36.

A total of 1,247,522 supporters have attended a top flight game of rugby league in 2022.
