Idris, Champion back for Titans

Centre pairing Jamal Idris and Beau Champion will both make a return from injury to boost the Gold Coast line up against St George.

Idris missed Sunday’s victory over Penrith while Champion was forced off the field in the early stages of the victory at Skilled Park.

Both suffered ankle problems.

However the pair have both been named in the Titans team that will take on the Dragons in Wollongong on Friday.

“We’ve only got a short turn-around this week so we haven’t done much on the field as yet. We’ll only really get a real grasp on the side when we get through Thursday’s session,” said Titans coach John Cartwright.

The Dragons go into the match off the back of last weekend’s shattering 28-20 defeat against Canterbury.

“The Dragons are going to be very tough,” added Cartwright.

“They’re back at Wollongong and would be hurting from their first loss down there which was their first game down there for a long time.

“They’ve got a lot of reasons to come out and be good on Friday but so have we.”

Forward Greg Bird will miss the match with a strained pectoral.
