Hunslet will begin their fundraising for Rob Burrow at next week’s traditional Harry Jepson Memorial Trophy match with Leeds.

The game takes place next Friday, January 31, two days before the Rhinos kick-start their Super League season at home to Hull FC.

The League 1 side plan to support Burrow further with a sponsored run on Saturday April 4, in conjunction with South Leeds Lakers Running Club, from the South Leeds Stadium to Emerald Headingley.

Burrow, 37, was recently diagnosed with Motor Neurone’s disease.

Hunslet’s Community Manager Phil Hodgson said: “Rob’s devastating news has rocked everyone and people are keen to show their support in any way they can.

“We have previously raised funds for SITraN (the Sheffield Institute for Translational Neuroscience), who are working hard to find a cure for this terrible disease.”

Anyone who is not coming to the game can still make a donation by clicking here.
